Our beloved Food Tuesday series is back! Alexander and Helia who have an extended invitation to showcase their work around food – Bahar-e Delneshin (Heartdwelling Spring) بهار دلنشین In this cooking event, we will invite Nahid, the Iranian diasporic owner of the café Anny-K, and propose to collectively unfold cooking and eating as everyday practices of imagining, reconstructing, and creating memories of a fragmented home through flavours.
We will eat together, sitting on the floor around the walls, expanding the space into the practice of Mehmooni (meaning gathering or party in Farsi). We will serve the dishes collectively on the floor in the center of the space. In between the courses, Nahid with the support of torbat, will share her stories and lived experiences linked to the food. In parallel, the event will screen videos of the harvesting of ingredients in the dishes: Estragon, as well as Saffron, Rice, Tea, Lentils, Turmeric, Roses, and Herbs.
In a separate room, we will exhibit personal photos of home and our memories linked to Iran, creating a collectively reconstructed space of the Iranian diaspora.
