It is an honor for La Cápsula and Les Complices* to host peruvian artist Frau Diamanda and her video work Travesti Speculations: the possibility of a counter genealogy (2022). In her words, the video "makes visible a long tradition of travesti writings, thinkings and political statements performed by Latin American practitioners, a series of subaltern voices silenced by heteropatriarchy. Travesti history has been erased, I try to visibilize it during the talk by assembling memory threads and fictionalizing histories, just like our real travesti bodies and imagery do." This video work was created for the Reading Club of the Museum Reina Sofía, shown later in the faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication of the University of Valencia, and as a seminary for the PEI Independent Programme Studies of the MACBA.
