In the exhibition Reservatório/Behältnis/Container: Nina Emge fills the space with a part of her artistic research of the last years. In the process, different levels are played with. On the one hand, various everyday materials - carpet, keys, paper, glass - are piled up in the installation. On the other hand, Nina Emge also integrates the positions of cultural workers from her network into the exhibition. In this way, she also explores the question of how (artistic) space can be opened and shared.
During the exhibition period, a selection of vinyls compiled by her friends can be heard in the exhibition space. This collective (re)arrangement of different objects and contributions refers to the necessity of appropriation and application of knowledge.
Hans Jurisch Barragàn occupies the space with lamps whose shades are made of drawings. Here, too, material is recontextualized and familiar objects are given new functionalities.
André Veigas shows "vocal exercises". These are only partly about training the voice. They are also instructions that help to question and retrain one's own understanding.
Nina Emge studied at the Zurich University of the Arts, where she completed her bachelor's degree with distinction in 2019. Present in her practice are the examination of organic forms, sound and its effect, as well as questions around the concept of listening. This is evident in her research and archival work, her installations and drawings, and in the often collaborative working and creation processes of her works, among others. Emge is an active member of the Transnational Sound Initiative. Her work has been shown at Les Complices* Zurich, Les Urbaines Lausanne, Shedhalle Zurich, Kunsthalle Zurich, Spoiler Berlin and other national and international project spaces.
