Hiba Tahhan, an Artist/Musician currently pursuing her second master's degree in transdisciplinary studies at the ZHdK, delves into the exploration of art therapy tools and artistic expression within the Palestinian context. Amidst this journey, Hiba has initiated a series of workshops at ZHdK in Zurich, each addressing different themes, the latest one focusing on fear. Her objective is to tackle emotions, feelings, and subjects often deemed challenging to discuss in everyday discourse. Through art, she seeks to facilitate a more accessible approach to these topics, fostering better understanding and acceptance.
Collaborating with fellow artists is fundamental to Hiba's workshop philosophy. This time, she has invited a friend who happens to be a rapper to co-lead a workshop on Doubt. Why this particular subject? Hiba and Mike have a history of collaboration, with Hiba featuring on one of Mike's tracks from his latest album, "Prophet to Doubt," which thematically explores the complexities of doubt. Drawing upon Mike's insight and exploration into this subject, Hiba saw an opportunity for an engaging workshop collaboration.
Centering on the theme of doubt, this workshop offers a unique exploration utilizing the expressive medium of rap. Participants will delve into the philosophy of doubt, whether it's confronting it head-on or embracing it as a companion on the journey of self-discovery. Through guided exercises and creative collaboration, Hiba and Mike will use rap as a powerful tool to experiment with and articulate their own experiences of doubt.
The concert by Lebanese-Genevan rapper Dr Koul is a performance of his album "Prophet of Doubt" and blends Hip Hop, philosophy and poetry followed by an interactive discussion with the audience.
