with guest contributions by Grisélidis Réal, La Sposa, Art and creativity courses Isla Victoria

Les Complices* are delighted to invite you to the opening of the exhibition A drawing research on sex work in Zurich by Alessia Conidi, Martina Baldinger and Angela Wittwer. The exhibition opens Les Complices* two months series of events and projects on the current political debate around sex work.

With A drawing research on sex work in Zurich Alessia Conidi and Martina Baldinger continue an earlier collaboration for the association Lysistrada in Canton Solothurn and invited Angela Wittwer to work with them. The drawings and notes assembled in the exhibition were produced and collected in the weeks before the opening. Mostly drawn on small notebooks, the drawings are visual traces of encounters, conversations, texts and spaces.
Taking into account the open format of the research and its' ongoing temporal structure the exhibition relies on a "mobile" format whereby drawings are arranged on a series of tables.

A number of guest contributions and a selection of publications on the topic extend the exhibition. During the next couple of weeks an artists’ publication with a selection of drawings will be produced.

Information on the series:
The exhibition is part of a two months series including a screening and discussion by Super Puta / maiz, a reading and book presentation by Melissa Gira Grant, a screening and discussion of the film Kate Millett parle de la prostitution avec des féministes (1975), a discussion on possibilities of networks against the stigmatisation of deviant forms of labour as well as the revival of an Installative Dramatisation by Tim Zulauf / KMUProduktionen co-produced by Les Complices* last year.
The series positions itself against the current tendencies of increasing stigmatisation and criminalisation of sexwork and sexworkers in Zurich and Europe.
